Madhyasthta – The ADR Cell, is a student initiative by Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed to be University’s New Law College, Pune. The Cell was instituted on 1st August, 2019 and since then has been working efficiently in training and developing the skill sets of the students in the field of ADR i.e. Arbitration, Mediation, Conciliation and Negotiation by conducting various Seminars, Webinars, Panel Discussions and Intra-College competitions and at the same time spreading awareness about ADR practices within student community and giving information regarding various National and International competition. The cell focuses on organizing more such events in future. The cell has even launched a special edition of Journal on Alternative Dispute Resolution in order to promote the research in the field of ADR.

Recently the Cell expanded its horizon to the cyberspace by launching a “Global Initiative for Alternative Dispute Resolution Awareness i.e. GIADRA an Oracle for ADR”, where cell tried to bring the knowledge and expertise of the ADR Professionals across the globe easily accessible to all the students and ADR enthusiasts in the form of blogs and videos. The ADR cell focuses in developing the skills of students and helping them to pursue their career in the field of ADR. The cell has also been sending students to different colleges for attending various ADR based seminars, conferences, panel discussions and knowledge enhancing events organized all across the country. The cell has a strong force team of 21 able and committed student members from all the batches of New Law College. The Cell emphasizes the importance of preventive law and the need to be an effective counsellor in law office. It harnesses the students’ ability to deal with client’s non- legal goals as well as the legal concerns. It emphasizes on the importance of arbitration, negotiation and mediation in resolving disputes and structuring transactions. It organizes regular activities for student teachers and the community. The cell believes in effectiveness of the ADR practices over litigation and intends to promote the same in the student community.
